A free review of what your practice pays

Send a card statement, an energy bill or your supplier invoices. A chartered accountant who co-owns a clinic reads them and tells you, in writing, what you pay and what looks high.

What you send, and what you get back

Send any one of these, or all three. Each is reviewed on its own.

A card processing statement

Your real rate: everything you were charged, as a percentage of what you took. Most statements never show it. We set out which charges make it up and which of them are negotiable.

One recent monthly statement is enough.

An energy bill or contract

Your all-in cost per kWh, including any broker commission built into the rate, how that sits against the current market, and the date you have to give notice by.

Electricity or gas, a bill or the contract itself.

Supplier invoices

A summary of what you spend with each supplier and on which products, with anything that looks out of line marked for a second look: price changes between orders, delivery and handling charges, the same product bought at two prices.

The last two or three months gives the clearest picture.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Send what you have

Email the documents as PDFs or phone photos. One is enough to start; you do not need all three.

  2. Step 2

    We read them properly

Line by line, by a person. Peter Langdon, a chartered accountant and clinic co-owner, reviews every one.

  3. Step 3

    You get a written review

A short document in plain English, normally within five working days: what you pay, what looks high, and what we would ask the supplier.

Where this started

£6,000 a year in card fees

Berkshire Aesthetics had been on a card rate set when the account opened and never revisited. Reading the statement properly put the real rate far above where it should have been. Moving it saved about £6,000 a year.

Berkshire Aesthetics is co-owned by SupplyIndex’s founder, Peter Langdon, and was the first practice reviewed this way. We say so rather than present it as an independent customer result. Your own saving depends on your current rate, card mix and volume, and may be nil.

Questions

Why is it free?
Two reasons, and you should know both. First, where a review shows you could pay less for card processing or energy, we can introduce you to a provider, and if you choose to switch we are paid a commission by that provider. You never pay us, and you are free to take the review to anyone. Second, the prices on your supplier invoices help build our anonymous benchmark of what independent practices pay.
Will you tell me how my prices compare with other practices?
Not yet for most products. We publish a comparison for a product only once at least five different practices have added a price for it, and the benchmark is still being built. Until then the review is based on your own documents and on what we know from running a clinic. As benchmarks unlock, we will tell you where you sit.
What happens to my documents?
They are used to write your review. Prices from supplier invoices are added to the benchmark in anonymised form: never shown on their own, never next to your practice name, and never visible to a supplier. A card statement or energy bill is passed to a provider only if you ask us to get you a quote.
How much will I save?
We cannot tell you before reading your documents, and it may be nothing. If you are already on good terms we will say so.
Who is this for?
Independent, owner-run practices in the UK: aesthetics, dental and allied health. It is not designed for groups with a central procurement team.

Send your documents

Email them to hello@supplyindex.io with your practice name. PDFs and phone photos are both fine. By sending them you agree to the use of your documents described above and in our privacy policy.
