Independent UK clinics are being invited to build an open benchmark of what they actually pay for injectables, skin boosters and clinical supplies — without uploading an invoice or creating an account.
SupplyIndex.io, a cost-saving initiative for independent clinics, has opened a two-minute form at supplyindex.io/contribute where practice owners and managers can add the price they paid for the products they reorder, or upload an invoice and have it read for them. Every price is anonymised and nothing is published for a product until five different practices have each added a price — and then only as a range.
To get the index moving, every verified price entered is an entry in a £1,000 prize draw for the winning practice.
A market where only the supplier knows the range
More than half of UK aesthetic clinics offer toxin and dermal filler treatments. Of 15,616 aesthetic clinic websites SupplyIndex.io reviewed in 2026, 57% advertised toxin treatments and 54% fillers, with skin boosters offered by 37%.
Yet there is no public record of what clinics pay for the products behind those treatments. Prices are negotiated account by account, and a practice sees only its own.
"I co-own a clinic, and until recently I couldn't have told you whether we paid a fair price for our skin boosters," said Peter Langdon of SupplyIndex.io, a chartered accountant and co-owner of Berkshire Aesthetics.
"The supplier knows what every practice it sells to is paying. Each practice knows one number — its own. That's not a negotiation between equals, and it's the independents who come off worst, because the large groups have their own buying data."
Where to buy, as well as what to pay
Alongside the price benchmark, SupplyIndex.io has published a "who sells what" directory mapping which UK pharmacies, distributors and manufacturers stock each brand — 420 stockist listings across 39 suppliers, each checked against the supplier's own website.
"Half the battle is knowing who else sells the same product," Langdon said. "Most practices reorder from the supplier they started with. The directory shows where else to ask for a quote before you do."
Built so no practice can be identified
The index is designed so that a clinic can contribute without its prices ever being traced back to it:
- Prices are never shown individually or next to a practice's name, and suppliers never see any individual practice's prices.
- A product's range is published only once five different practices have added a price.
- Typing errors and pack-versus-unit mix-ups are removed automatically before any figure is calculated.
- Prices from a confirmed practice email address count in full; personal and unconfirmed addresses count for less, and temporary addresses are refused.
- SupplyIndex.io audits a sample of entries and may ask the practice for evidence, such as an invoice or order confirmation.
"We would rather publish nothing than publish a number we couldn't stand behind," Langdon said. "An index people don't trust is worse than no index."
The prize draw
Each verified price entered at supplyindex.io/contribute — or each piece of capital equipment reported — is one entry in a draw for £1,000, paid to the winning practice. The draw closes when 50 of the main injectable and dental consumables have a live benchmark, or on 31 January 2027, whichever comes first. Entry is free. Full terms are at supplyindex.io/prize-draw.
About SupplyIndex.io
SupplyIndex.io is a trading name of Indexeli Intelligence Limited. It is a cost-saving initiative for independent medical and allied-health clinics — dental, aesthetics, veterinary, optical and more. SupplyIndex.io negotiates supplier rates on behalf of independent practices and publishes anonymised benchmarks of what they really pay; each practice contracts directly with its suppliers and keeps its independence.
Notes to editors
The treatment figures come from SupplyIndex.io's review of the public websites of 15,616 UK aesthetic clinics in 2026, counting a clinic where its own site advertised the treatment.
The stockist directory is at supplyindex.io/suppliers. Listings record that a supplier offers a brand on its own website; they are not an endorsement and carry no prices.
Benchmarks are published as a range (lower quartile, median and upper quartile) and only once a product has prices from at least five different practices. Contributors' prices are weighted by how their email was verified and filtered for outliers before any figure is calculated; the method is published at supplyindex.io/methodology.
